Some random pieces of Starfinder worldbuilding from the Pact Worlds setting book that bring me joy:
From the Burning Archipelago, a network of force bubbles holding a city inside the surface of a sun:
“Tethers of energy hold the bubbles in an unchanging formation, but they also serve as the backbone of interbubble transport. Ferries known as linecrawlers hug the tethers, using them to traverse the turbulent solar atmosphere between the bubbles. […] In practice, the senate operates more like a negotiating society than a legislative body, as major trade guilds, especially the powerful Linecrawler Operators Union, can speak freely at senate meetings.”
This little nugget about ferry ships hugging force tethers inside the surface of a sun and the powerful union that runs them. Like. When you imagine that? As if you were a tourist experiencing it for the first time, climbing onto this bus and watching as it heads out of the force bubble that is all that stands between you and immolation inside a star, hugging to a line of force that nobody knows how to repair, and the guy driving the thing knows your awe and your terror so well, because it’s what he and his union bank on to give them a voice in government. Just. Awesome.
From Aballon, the machine-world closest to the sun:
“Between millennia of robotic excavators crafting perfectly aligned subterranean tunnels and the organic “diggers” of the Ice Wells crafting their own networks, Aballon is rife with internal transit routes. Unleashed in the wake of the First Ones’ departure, the excavator robots began work constructing a series of pathways to connect the planet’s various settlements. Sometime during the Gap, these excavators completed their work, and the anacites installed complex, magnetically charged rail systems. The mag-rail network allows high-speed transit beneath the planet’s surface, freeing up the skies for city-sized bulk landers to collect goods from the anacite-run forges.”
I have a fascination for logistics and transport systems, okay, especially in sci-fi, and Aballon’s mag-rail system running underground between massive machine megaplexes, organic undercities hiding in the craters beneath them, and the jungles of the ‘Ice Wells’, deep impact craters that protect from the burning sunlight and allow the presence of water, is just … It’s just the imagery? This machine-dug traceries running beneath the surface of the world.
From the permanently frozen dark side of the tidally locked Verces comes the Fastness of the Ordered Mind:
“A cluster of linked fortress-temples, the Fastness houses the Ascetics of Nar, one of the oldest monastic societies in the Pact Worlds. Within its walls, the ice-obsessed scholars undergo bizarre rituals in order to further their mystical study of the cosmos, seeing in the crystalline structure of ice a blueprint for the inherent order of the multiverse. For some, this means using melting shards of ice to carve magical sigils into their flesh—thus supposedly taking the ice’s order into themselves— while others meditate unprotected on exposed glaciers, letting the cold ravage their bodies. The most aggressive of these allow frostbite to take all of their limbs, and these honored individuals, called the Clarified, are either wired permanently into starships or joined psychically into neural networks with their cenobites in the Fastness’s most secure heart, helping take the order’s research of the universe to new heights.”
Because Verces’ dark side is the setting of the Thing and Event Horizon and Hellraiser, and I love it so much. And the detail of the frostbitten Clarified being directly wired into the heart of starships as their pilots is just exactly the sort of gruesome horrifying science fiction detailing that I enjoy.
From the pirate-and-mystery laden asteroid belt of the Diaspora:
“The ysoki trade frigate Farabarrium is a salvaged ATech Immortal left adrift by the Knights of Golarion after a brutal confrontation with an Eoxian cruiser several years ago. A group of ysoki salvagers called the Shirsask Kaia laid claim to the damaged ship and were able to bring the vessel back online within 2 years’ time. With the significant firepower and space provided by the Farabarrium, the Shirsask Kaia decided to put down roots in the Diaspora and operate as a trade hub and salvage way station. The Shirsask Kaia were quick to negotiate a lucrative protection deal with the Free Captains in return for offering priority maintenance for all Free Captain vessels. Now the Farabarrium is a well-known hot spot of trade activity within the Diaspora and a noteworthy pit stop for travelers scouring the forgotten reaches of the asteroid belt.”
The Farabarrium is easily one of my favourite parts of the setting. There’s a lot of the old school Star Wars book EU in her. A salvaged warship that’s been converted by ratfolk to serve as a mobile salvage and repair station among the pirate asteroids of the Diaspora. She has that blue collar science fiction sensibility that I just delight in.
From Eox, the blasted undead world that destroyed itself in the process of shattering two worlds into what would become the Diaspora asteroid belt:
“The vast, flat, northern reaches of Eox are known as Lacustria Hollow, the basin of what was once the arctic Lacustria Sea. Though no major settlements exist here, the area is littered with the wrecked remains of airships, diving spheres, sailing vessels, submarines, and underwater cities from the time when it was a thriving ocean beneath an eternal ice pack. What appear to be centuries of experimental ships, shattered strongholds, submerged ports, and wrecks suggest that before the planet was devastated, the Lacustria Sea was extremely active and saw trade, naval battles, eldritch wars, and even attempts to settle the seafloor.”
From both an archaeological and also a cosmic horror point of view, Eox is fascinating. They wiped themselves out and literally turned their entire planet undead, but before that, they were apparently already having Cthulhu-esque exploration and wars and attempted submarine colonisation efforts in the icy seas beneath their polar ice caps. There’s a ghostly city mentioned later on called Grim Reach out here that appears to be a pre-cataclysm city at the bottom of this sea, but that isn’t built as an underwater city, but an open air one, so what the hell happened up here?
From the gas giant of Liavara, one of my favourite planets in this system … actually, there’s a couple of things from Liavara, I love this place, so a small sampling:
“The only true settlement on Liavara is the floating city of Roselight, a series of transparent aluminum and polycarbonate domes atop a mechanical thruster platform, built almost exclusively as a carefully managed gas-mining outpost. […] Although it exists solely for Liavara’s tightly controlled gas-mining industry, Roselight is a surprisingly beautiful city—a floating platform of steel and polycarbon capped with transparent aluminum domes of varying sizes that catch the light filtering through Liavara’s peach-colored clouds to shimmer like giant soap bubbles. The tight restrictions on the city result in an environment not dissimilar from a space station, as everything in the city, including air and water, must be recycled.”
“Deep Station. The depths of a gas giant are a fascinating subject for researchers, and this research facility, complete with a tiny shrine to Yaraesa, floats at a depth where the pressure is too intense for most structures to retain integrity. Deep Station was built with a sturdier infrastructure than most vessels transporting staff and supplies to and from the station, so while the station could go deeper into Liavara’s atmosphere, it would then be unable to receive support. The pressure and electromagnetic fields at such depths usually wreak havoc with standard communications systems, but recently transmissions from Deep Station have stopped altogether. Colleagues at Deep Station’s partner institutions would deeply love to find a starship crew with a ship hardy enough to brave the gas giant’s depths to investigate.”
“Old Hulk. Before Roselight was established, gas mining on Liavara was conducted from a scrappy mechanical platform built sometime during the Gap. It had already failed by the time history resumed, abandoned and left to deteriorate within the planet’s depths. Its buoyancy engines, however, retain at least some level of functionality, and the platform bobs between the upper and lower layers of the planet’s atmosphere. This erratic elevation means that sometimes the derelict structure “surfaces” from the clouds below, like the corpse of a mechanical whale, floating for a few hours or days before sinking back into the unbearable pressure of the planet’s depths.”
While the moons of Liavara are fascinating, it’s the installations and cities within the atmosphere of the gas giant itself that fascinate me. Possibly you can blame Lando Calrissian and Cloud City from Star Wars, but there’s just something about the imagery of a gas giant and the flying/floating cities within it. It’s a weird combination of sky and ocean, of clouds and storms and massive winds, but also crush depths, canned air, and resource management. Deep Station being lost to the depths, the ragged ghost of the Old Hulk rising periodically like a shipwreck, the Flying Dutchman, while Roselight shimmers like a soap bubble and bristles with port-slash-industrial city concerns. Liavara is such a fantastic picture of a planet.
From the incredibly turbulent skies of the gas giant Bretheda:
“Eyes of the Ancients. For ages, three cyclones of epic proportions have churned in a symbiotic maelstrom in the southern hemisphere of Bretheda’s turbulent atmosphere. Mentions of these storms appear in records dating long before the Gap, even among societies with only the most basic of telescopic technology, and the violence of each storm is enough to tear apart even the sturdiest of vessels. Yet satellite imagery shows an apparently calm center cradled between the three, with faint signals suggesting that there might be some kind of settlement or structure nestled within the clouds here. Worshipers of Triune, citing the trifold nature of both their deity and the storms, insist that the structure must be a shrine to their deity, while others point to the inscrutable nature of the signal as fitting for a site holy to Ibra. More skeptical voices dismiss both claims as far less likely than the structure being nothing more than a remnant of a starship caught in the storms and eventually swept to the central area— though for a ship to have survived the crushing power of the Eyes would require an extraordinary quality of construction, likely beyond that currently seen in the Pact Worlds. Regardless of which theory, if any, is correct, no pilots have yet managed to navigate the Eyes or succeed at a direct descent from orbit into the center.”
You know in Event Horizon, that ominous first shot of the ship herself hanging above the eye of a storm in the atmosphere of Neptune? I feel like this mysterious object very much has that vibe, to the point where I wonder if it was a direct inspiration. But man, I really want to discover a survivable way down to this thing so I can poke at its mysteries (and possibly die horribly to them).
The gas giants in this system are so fun. And, again, it is probably noticeable that I grew up on the likes of Alien and Event Horizon. And Star Trek, you’d think there’d be more influence from that, but I just … I like cosmic horror and I like blue collar science fiction. I like transport systems and unions and logistics and air recycling systems, and I also like mysterious objects hanging in impassible planetary storms and evidence of Lovecraftian wars beneath the vanished seas of a death world.
This is such a good setting. Such a good setting. I love the worldbuilding so much.

DIPLOMACY
The Irchans, are a race that, like most others, was born in paradise. In a paradise where delicious purple plants grew at every step, a paradise that was warmed by the light of three stars. The Irchans were like countless others in the Milky Way. But they did something that others didn't. They were the first to have diplomatic negotiation with the humans.
When humans discovered FTL, they became a equal partners on a galactic level, newcomers are always a new opportunity for trade and other forms of cooperation.
The Irchans knew this very well. Once their race achieved FTL, a neighboring more advanced race came to them and gave them more advanced technology, and in return they received several mining stations in the surrounding asteroid belt. It benefited both parties. The Irchans remember these events well, so when they found out about a new race that was only 4,2 light years away, they didn't hesitate and set off without detailed information about the race there.
Already in the Kuiper asteroid belt, the ship with the Irchan diplomats was stopped by humans. After a long debate that was possible thanks to the telepathy that the Irchans control, they arranged a meeting with the humans, it was decided that the ship would fly on the fourth planet from the home star of the race there.
After they landed, the top diplomats sat together in a small room where there were only two chairs and one table . Irchan's foreign minister and human's representative "President of the United Nations".
"Hello, welcome to the solar system, so you want to work with us?" said the president and just gestured for the minister sit down.
"Yes, I've see that your industry is very good quality and fast, what about that you will produce spaceships for us and we will give you a blueprints of stronger laser cannons, faster engines and more powerful neutrino technology?" explained the minister.
" That sounds fair, but I still need to discuss it with the other diplomats".
"Do you govern liberally?" commented the minister.
"Yes, why are you asking?"
"You know, we hate it, that's why there is chaos in governance, we prefer the authoritarian way from birth, it's faster and the leaders have more experience than some MPs or senators".
"But if someone has unlimited power and he is incompetent or mentally messed up, then it all goes wrong" argued the president.
"Please, let's not argue, go and discuss it with others and we will wait".
"Goodbye for now, oh I almost forgot, would you like to look around?"
"Yes, we would like that".
"Alright, hey Bob! Would you show them around?"
Then some person ran to the room where were the president with the minister, that person was dressed in shorts and a shirt with palm trees and a straw hat on his head.
"Hello, how many aliens will come with me?" asked Bob.
Minister looked at him confused and then he answered " Me and five other diplomats ".
"So, go with me buddy" said Bob.
Then Bob and six aliens set off. They walked along a long corridor that had windows on the left side, so everyone could see the dead valley where water flowed millions of years ago and possibly had life in it, but now it's a dead world.
Then they walked into a mall where was a lot of shops as clothes shop, cinemas and others, but Bob walked in to something that nobody from aliens couldn't know, they saw a board on which there were three unknown signs for them, but they identified a old man to the right of the signs who had a clearly visible beard and glasses. When they walked in, it looked like time stopped there, everyone who was in the room just stared at Bob, the minister and the other diplomats.
"Chill guys, we're just going to eat". Said Bob and then with minister and another diplomats, walked from the entrance to the counter.
"Hello, one classic bucket of nuggets please" said Bob to the scared waitress.
After two minutes the waitress gave the bucket to Bob. They sat down at one of the few free tables.
Meanwhile Bob bit into the food from bucket and asked" Would you like to try this food?".
Then the minister turned to Bob and answered "Why not".
Then he took one of the pieces of food out of the bucket and bit into it.
At almost immediately the minister vomited.
"What happened to you?!!" shouted Bob to the minister.
"What is that?!". Asked the minister.
"Chicken nuggets".
"What is chicken?". Asked the minister.
"Animal". Answered Bob.
The minister looked at him terrified and said "Your species is carnivores?".
"No, we are omnivores".
"Could you please take us back to the meeting room?" Asked the minister.
"Of course".
After a seemingly endless corridor, the minister, diplomats and Bob made their way back to the conference room to discuss the "omnivorousness" of the human race with the other Irchan diplomats.
After a bit of searching on the human internet the diplomats started to argue.
"They do not appear to be active predators, rather they simply raise various animals and then eat them". Said one of the diplomats to the minister.
"But still, it's the second discovered advanced race that is eating meat, we don't know what to expect from them". Said the minister.
One of the diplomats looked ta him and said "I'm sure that they are not like a Ferendir".
For a moment, the minister became lost in his thoughts, remembering how he was unable to move and was forced to look at the remains of his best friends, the ruins of the hotel where they were staying, and the burning forest in the distance, and most of all, the looks of those monsters that were preparing to eat him.
"No, they are not like the Ferendir, it was impossible to speak with them, no, humans are not like those monsters, but they are strange we can't just give them better technology, we have to wait for them to show us that they really aren't monsters" said the minister.
"You know what? Let's get out of here, our leader will decide any further action" said one of the diplomats.
Everyone agreed, then they left the solar system without any goodbyes.

Egyptian Pantheon Facts
Here are some Callyieverse headcanon nuggets for how the Egyptian Pantheon operates
The Egyptian Pantheon doesn’t care if you’re a god, mortal, Titan, or cosmic love child. While other pantheons squabble over Titan blood or political advantage, the Egyptian gods have one sacred, inviolable law: the preservation of Maat, the cosmic balance between order and chaos. To them, a Titan is no more inherently threatening than a god or mortal. It's not about species — it's about imbalance. The Egyptians don’t hunt Titans for sport like some pantheons might, but the moment one upsets the divine equilibrium, a reckoning follows. Their justice is impersonal and absolute—if you upset the scale, you answer for it.
The Maat belief system is so deeply embedded that even their court trials (like the Weighing of the Heart) are seen as literal magical rituals that either confirm or cleanse cosmic disturbance. This creates tension with other Pantheons, especially ones like the Norse and Greek who tend to lean into chaos or self-serving actions. Egyptian deities often see their hands-off chaos as irresponsibility.
While Titan hunting isn’t outlawed in Egyptian territory, it is considered a matter of internal jurisdiction. Other pantheons who try to interfere or handle Egyptian-affiliated Titans without permission are viewed as overstepping their bounds—sometimes even as committing acts of war. The Egyptian gods don’t appreciate outsiders meddling in their affairs, especially given their long-standing status as one of the world’s premier pantheons. To act without their blessing is to insult their sovereignty and treat Ra’s court like second-tier deities—which never ends well. Even Zeus knows to tread carefully when navigating Egyptian space.
Ra once tried to offer Basteta Sekhmet’s role — an enforcer of divine will and an overture of unity between gods and Titans. She declined, not wanting to be "the Token Titan" of the Egyptian Pantheon, especially not to appease political optics or used to score brownie points with Nia when she was made heir to Avalon. She still plays a crucial role—acting as a cultural bridge and a field operative when needed—but she's a free agent in many ways. Her decision caused friction in the inner circle... until Nenet was born.
Ra commands not just power, but profound reverence from gods across multiple pantheons. While Odin and Zeus share his stature among the so-called "Big Three", unlike the others, he never loses his authority in the Future AU, knowing the best way to survive is to adapt.
Even his closest kin struggle to parse Ra’s thoughts or emotions. His inscrutable gaze is half-smile, half-hurricane: comforting one moment, ominous the next. Many whisper that Ra’s mysteries are the ultimate test of faith in Maat.
Sekhmet is stronger than Ra. But Ra’s control over her doesn’t come from dominance — it comes from loyalty, trust, and the fact that Ra gave her his primordial divine spark. If Ra is the sun, Sekhmet is the solar flare he lets burn only when absolutely necessary. Her loyalty is born from a deep sense of duty and respect, not blind obedience. When she speaks, even Ra listens. In battle, she is unstoppable. Even the other pantheons whisper her name when they speak of war gods. She’s often deployed as a last resort, the final punishment when Maat has been so violently upended that diplomacy is off the table. If Sekhmet leaves Solar City, people tremble.
Once hands-on with every law and temple rite, Ra now entrusts key roles to his top lieutenants—Sekhmet as enforcer, Thoth as keeper of records, Hathor as ambassador of love and beautification, Serqet as poison-and-cure specialist, etc. Their influence is great, though Ra’s light never wanes—it simply shines from above, letting others carry the torch while he watches from his golden seat.
Atum, the vanished All-Father of Chronos’s era, remains unrivaled in seniority. His son Ra sits a rung below, overseeing gods like a monarch among monarchs. All other deities—Sekhmet, Isis, Thoth, etc.—owe their stations to Ra’s delegated authority.
King Osiris, ruler of Duat's Underworld and head of the Council of Maat, is the ultimate judge of souls — mortal and divine alike. While Ra rules the culture and vision of their people, Osiris commands the dead, overseeing reincarnation, judgment, and spiritual order. His power is quiet but immense, and his courtroom is where some of the most high-stakes trials in godly history have taken place — including divine betrayals, inter-pantheon diplomacy, and more than a few attempts to challenge Maat’s sacred laws.
Solar City is Ra’s home base — a brilliant, radiant metropolis at the heart of Duat. It pulses with solar energy, divine architecture, and an unsettling stillness. While beautiful, it’s also known as a place where Ra watches all. Leaving the city — and by extension, Ra’s gaze — for too long without explanation is seen as an issue.
Since the fall of ancient Egypt, the pantheon has grown increasingly reclusive, even with other Pantheons. Earthly affairs are viewed with a mixture of apathy or uninterest, as mortals have forgotten the sacred balance that once tied them to the gods. Aside from a few exceptions, the gods stay rooted in Duat. This isn’t just policy; it’s survival. Ra believes distance protects them from being warped by mortal entropy, and most agree.

~ "In 1901, sponge divers off the coast of Antikethera in Greece made a discovery that baffled scientists for over a century. In the middle of an ancient Greek shipwreck, a corroded bronze nugget filled with gears emerged. At first, no one knew what it was — until thorough examination revealed something fascinating. This wasn’t just another ancient artifact; it was an intricate gear-powered machine, unlike anything else from the old world. This device, now known as the Antiquethera mechanism, is believed to be an astronomical calculator, dating back more than 2,000 years – long before such technology existed. The complex system of bronze gears and ports can predict solar and lunar eclipses, track planet movements, and even track the Olympic Games calendar. This level of mechanical evolution was not seen again until the fourteenth century, nearly 1500 years later. The enigma grows deeper with the questions scientists have yet to answer. Who built it ? Some theories suggest they were created by Archimedes or Hibarchus, two of the greatest minds in ancient Greece. How did you find such advanced technology at a time when most civilizations still relied on solar clocks and primitive mathematics ? And perhaps most interesting - have there been other machines like it ? If that's the case, why have no similar machines ever been found ? Modern X-ray scans and 3D reconstructions have revealed more secrets, showing that they once contained at least 37 intertwined gears, each meticulously designed to map celestial movements. But some pieces are still missing, and many of their functions remain unknown. Was it a navigation tool, education, or something else entirely ? The mechanism of Antiquethera remains one of the greatest secrets of the ancient world. A device so advanced that it defies everything we thought we knew about ancient technology. Was it a solo act of genius, a lost civilization, or evidence that history is more complex than we imagined ?" ~

hello!!! How are you? Can I join your game please? :)
im AB 🪻🪽
Hello AB 🪻🪽, thank you very much for playing and for your patience.
Your card is Fire:Ancestor:Moon. Your fire element is in the dancing lights of the sky. It's found in the green rays emanating from strong auroras, or the tall red pillars of light from the sprites. It's the luminous tail end of an icy comet as it blazes past our solar system and beyond. Your element leaves its mark deep in the sky as colorful nebulae which are bright enough to be spotted with the naked eye. Your element shines with the albedo of reflective planets and moons. For thousands of years, human beings peered fervently into the night sky for answers and stories to explain our lives. These stories and gold nuggets of wisdom were passed down over many generations. Even though some of this information has been lost to the ravages of time and human history, Ancestor Fire:Moon wants to remind you that these ancient messages still surround you and your daily life. The teachings of the past still appear to you as synchronicities. It could be that you keep meeting the same person in different clothes who all share a zodiac sign in common. Or perhaps every time a rare astronomical event occurs, like a meteor shower, it coincides with something happening in your life. You may be prone to seeing repeating numbers like 1111 or 444, or certain plants could hold a special and individual meaning for you. This fire element wants to show you that you still have a string tethered to your past, and how you have guides always supporting your journey even when life gets tough. These signs aren't always for direction, many times they send something as a message of comforting affirmation. You're in a growing phase of phasing out old narratives and harmful cycles that you absorbed over your childhood and restoring emotional equilibrium through this transition. This fire element can burn away what's no longer helpful while the best parts left behind are fireproof and meant to last. There are gems to uncover from this process. When it feels like these old emotional patterns keep you stuck in the mud, remember to look up to the star map that was weaved for you from guides, ancestors of either blood and spirit, who have long passed from this world, and walk your own path.

The nuggets are now going out into their grow out pen during the day! I’m still just not comfortable leaving them out there overnight, so they come back inside for bedtime. I had to buy the cameras separately because I have limited income lol, so the run cam and solar panel will come in later this week. They spend most of their time in the run when they're out there, but the coop is where any weak spots might be, so that's where we put the first camera. Don't worry, there are still six! The camera didn't start saving the recording until after the first one had already gone out into the run. The last one is my littlest girl (who I'm lowkey suspicious might be a boy), and she didn't wanna leave because I was right there in her line of sight and she's very attached to me. She didn't leave the carrier until I stood up and started moving it lol. She and the wheaten girl are both stage five clingers and will hop up onto my chest for cuddles anytime I'm sitting outside with them. Like seriously, they hop up onto my chest, lay their lil heads on my shoulder, and when I put my hand on their backs to hold them in place they go completely limp and trill. They're all such sweet lil birds, but those two, man...
Anyway, cameras are Coop Cams equipped with ai detection software that identifies and alerts to predators. The camera has a built in alarm system that activates when it sees a threat, and it automatically sends a text to my phone so that I can intervene. This is how ai is supposed to be used, folks! Of course so far it has identified both myself and my dad as chickens, my chickens as ducks, and my cat as a dog when I pointed it at her while I was setting it up in the house lmao, so we'll see.

And pictures really don't do this lil barnevelder girl justice. She's absolutely gorgeous.

Emily Blunt & Anne Hathaway REVENGE on Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly 😂
youtube
So these ladies are not the girls there are not chosen for the job by Mac proper I think it might have been but I don't think it was Meryl Streep it was something to do with the Volkswagen with Emily the other girl is probably the Nissan and true Hera says
Zues
And Meryl Streep was involved but a lot of them were meaning like billions of leaders not just millions and she says it's true but they're up top it's still millions and out there and they had to see what's going on and got pushed out by George and tech and Trump and bja as a result and the lost control they thought they might but they don't really know exactly what's happening so things are going on that are strange but this is really an odd plan so they're at her and trying to find out more information and my husband said try Joseph mangle there and they did now he's out and they just wanted to know what they were doing yeah they're kind of mad at them what I know is stay we're kind of hand picking them out of a hat but it was more than Mangler but it wasn't really Meryl Streep so she's mad at him for sending them to her that's what they kind of did but she's all right but really the plan is to save solar system and the universe and they figured out it was necessary some of them independently so I hear they heard it and it went better
Hera
They heard it but they wanted to know what the problem is this is not armies it's not people it's the Sun and these asteroids most of them have an iron shell and that one would definitely have one even if it didn't have one at first as a gas comes in it becomes a problem if it burns too hot or a certain gases come in and mix and they are different luckily we are near deposits that come in we have to help him and they're mostly the right gas it's like a methane and natural gas a little bit but it's not burning too hot inside the core of the Sun is a radiant material and that happens before it gets here and turned into a big son I would imagine the Sun is lit because of gravity and a certain size it's spontaneously combusts things from friction and they're amazed and they said that sounds real and oh it's pressurized from heat and there's a time limit on each Sun it needs to be maintained and I would assume that other sons and stars expand in the iron cracks usually it doesn't ignite as you know the gas won't ignite usually in a crack and usually it releases the pressure leave it or not believe it or not it's very dangerous and father and mother say these fissures are actually safe but with this son it's different it's not necessarily iron and they jumped out of their skin and so we're not supposed to know so you're not telling us and we get that but he seems on doing it we have to calm people down so it kind of end up working for me and I said that they should research it and they did and said it's crazy as hell we're looking right at it and we don't know about it the system these people are controlling it and there's stewards of the Earth and we're picking on him threatening him and he says please get a little bit hairy but that's kind of what you do it's not that bad their father goes a little nuts and he's kind of lost it I don't think you're supposed to do all this stuff but that's what they consider the possibly do so you go to the onion and he's telling me and you try and find that final layer it has that Golden Nugget of onion inside to see you soft and tender around little ball before you get to the ball I guess you have to figure out what the onion tree is all about and that's probably where we'll print and I guess he's a baby and goes to the bathroom a lot he's doing it now but he can't wait anymore there's a lot of strange things in this life I did say too many but people are struggling and trying to survive you got very dangerous and he woke up and said to do some problems and we are going to fix them it looks like they're on it and we're on it but there are those who would want to just leave and it won't do anything and you can't come back and fix it cuz you don't want to and stuff like that so we don't really know what it's made out of but really it's not too hard to tell when there's a spot you can actually see it and you can fire a beam it goes to the gas and kind of ignites it it's no big deal and you can tell what it's made out of there are some issues he says the gasket and the gas goes up to be if you don't turn it off you're going to explode and I noticed it does that and what a trip him knowing that without being there it says I'm not liking a devil but I'm going to be very big yeah his head will be much bigger than a mini and James Bond now it's the van in that movie in Egypt Moonraker now we've got a deal
Merryll streep he says I'm sharp and smart and it's refreshing and it's good to know that people understand you can't run from this problem there are some people that get it there might be others that don't like our boss and that's bad
We know he's not thinking of doing it now this is a problem

Big Boy And Nugget Michigan Rivalry Shirt
Big Boy And Nugget Michigan Rivalry Shirt NASA and other space Big Boy And Nugget Michigan Rivalry Shirt around the world are actively searching for signs of extraterrestrial life, but their approach is based on scientific methods and rigorous research. For example, NASA’s Kepler space telescope has been used to search for exoplanets, or planets outside of our solar system, that could potentially support life.

Explore
It takes weeks to truly explore a single lake,
to row its contours, find the shallow marshes,
the shady spots where fish take cover; a single
block of downtown with its restaurants and
bars, at least a week if you go to a different
place every day for lunch; then what chance
is there to see all of Copenhagen in four days,
let alone all of Scandinavia in a fortnight?
The earth entire will take the entire human
race each of their entire lives to fully divine
each hidden corner of the globe; why bother?
the solar system will take another millennia,
and the galaxy another billion years; but you,
the forest of your hair, the tiny baby hairs on
your ear lobes, the nugget of your belly button,
each rise and fall of muscle across your arms
and legs and the small of your back—these
will take at least tonight, or perhaps another.

Saturday Morning Coffee
Good morning from Charlottesville, Virginia! ☕️
Tumblr media
Welcome to this Special Sunday Edition of Saturday Morning Coffee. What makes it special you ask? Nothing! 😆
Kim, my lovely bride, let me sleep in yesterday. It was glorious! And since we had plans to be out of the house by around 10AM, well, that meant I couldn’t put things together yesterday. Now you know why you’re seeing this on Sunday.
Grab some coffee and enjoy the links!
Adele Peters • Fast Company
Last Saturday, as 39 million Californians went about their daily lives—taking showers, doing laundry, or charging their electric cars—the whole state ran on 100% clean electricity for more than nine hours.
I find this very encouraging and I believe it’s only going to get better.
Down the hill from where we live one of our power providers is installing a large field of solar panels. I don’t know how large it is or how much power it’ll generate, but I’m here for it.
Naomi Hartono • blogs.nasa.gov
For the first time since November, NASA’s Voyager 1 spacecraft is returning usable data about the health and status of its onboard engineering systems.
Engineers this smart blow my mind.
“Oh, the thing I need to repair is millions of miles away? No problem.” 😳

Rick Perlstein • The American Prospect
And that’s when the man in the castle with the seven fireplaces said it.
“I’m glad there’s OxyContin and video games to keep those people quiet.”
Andreessen is another piece of Silicon Valley garbage. Even if he said he was joking there’s always a nugget of truth in there. I’d say he really believes what he said.

Trump’s Immunity Case Was Settled More Than 200 Years Ago
That seems about right. We’ve managed to have 240+ years of Presidencies without one committing crimes against the nation that I doubt our founding fathers expected it to happen like this.
Trump is a rapist and a mob boss looking to use the Presidency as his own personal piggy bank.
I hope the Supremes do the right thing and declare the President isn’t above the law.

In my previous post, I just scratched the surface of iOS development in Neovim. Since then I discovered many new things that allowed me to move my development almost completely to Neovim.
If you’re really good with keyboard commands this could be the editor for you. I’ll stick with Xcode and BBEdit. 😄

I just don’t get Taylor Swift. There, I said it. (DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT DISLIKE HER. I WISH HER ALL OF THE HAPPINESS AND SUCCESS IN THE WORLD. PLEASE, I HAVE A FAMILY.)
Better be careful! The Swifties won’t be happy!
Remember the hubbub caused by Tool releasing their first album in 13 years keeping Ms. Swift’s new album out of the top spot? I do. It was kind of funny.
She’s a cultural phenomenon and apparently a very kind, caring, human being. What’s not to like?

A few weeks ago, I got a bit miffed reading yet another article that was too dismissive about memory safety, basically being mostly dismissive about the need for change. The following weekend, I started seeing flippant responses from security luminaries, saying essentially that you’re irresponsible and dangerous unless you drop C and C++ faster than I dropped my 8 am classes my first year in college.
I’m an old curmudgeon and I still love C++ as a development language, especially if you’re doing something that needs to be cross platform. But, I certainly understand the trend and the desire to move to memory safe languages. Swift and Rust are both great choices. Swift has made development on Apple OS’es easier and safer. I love it! Rust is on my to learn list but given my latest project is React Native it makes more sense for me to learn JavaScript. Rust will have to wait.

Honda announced today that it will spend $11 billion to expand its electric vehicle manufacturing presence in North America. The Japanese automaker already has a number of factories in the US, Mexico, and Canada, and it’s this last one that will benefit from the expansion, with four EV-related plants planned for Ontario.
That’s a lot of money and it’s interesting it’s happening in Canada instead of the US.
Here’s to Honda building better, more affordable, EV’s than Tesla.
Gary Bernhard • Destroy All Software
This science fiction / comedy / completely serious talk traces the history of JavaScript, and programming in general, from 1995 until 2035. It’s not pro- or anti-JavaScript; the language’s flaws are discussed frankly, but its ultimate impact on the industry is tremendously positive. For Gary’s more serious (and less futuristic) thoughts on programming, try some Destroy All Software screencasts.
It’s easy to poke fun a JavaScript but equally as important to understand how important it’s become to our industry.

Archeologists have made a remarkable find at George Washington’s Mount Vernon in the ground beneath the cellar — two sealed bottles containing plump cherries.
Very cool! Now what? Who wants to open a jar and eat one? I kind of do, but there’s no way that’s gonna happen. 🤣
Did you know that while George Washington was away fighting the American Revolutionary War he was also writing home to instruct his brother how he wanted his home renovation to proceed. Then he’d go off and fight some redcoats.
Alex Franchuk • Mozilla
Porting a cross-platform GUI application to Rust
This is something my cross platform loving brain could get behind. The Mozilla team rewrote — not something I recommend — their crash reporting tool in 100% Rust. Nifty!
That included writing four abstractions for different UI toolkits; Mac, Windows, Linux, and one for testing. So three plus. 😄 Love it!
Digiday
The possibility of a TikTok ban is inching closer to becoming a reality at this point. On Tuesday, the Senate passed the bill that would bar the social media platform from operating in the U.S. unless ByteDance, its Chinese parent company, sells its stake.
So this was earlier in the week. The President signed it. Now ByteDance has nine months to get the deal done or pull out of the United States.
I still feel like this could’ve been handled differently but I have no idea what that would entail.
Jordan Rose
So let me re-iterate: the three-and-a-half features listed at the top are the only forms of run-time polymorphism in Swift. Now when someone asks “how can I allow arbitrary different argument types to result in different behavior”, you know the answer: make a protocol.
You heard the man! Make a protocol! That will cause the compiler to enforce the contract between your implementation and the definition. You’re obliged to implement it.
If you only need to know an object “is-a” thing that protocol doesn’t actually need to define any properties or methods. Yes, it can be that simple.

Ghost has announced they are working on ActivityPub support
Manton has been on the open standards software train for years and years. That’s why Micro.blog implements ActivityPub, BlueSky’s AT Protocol, and Micropub.
Micro.blog is a great blogging tool for $5/month. I use it to post here.

Don’t ignore AI because it’s dumb. Figure out how to create patterns and processes where you can use it as the useful tool it’s becoming.
Keep in mind that AI is just another tool, created by humans, full of flaws. Yes, it’s extremely useful, yes it can get things wrong. But, it’s still growing and changing. Hopefully it’ll will get better over time.
